Range Rover - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - 2017 Land Rover Range Rover spy shots - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

For years, Land Rover’s Range Rover was unparalleled in the luxury SUV segment. But with demand for SUVs soaring over the past decade it was only a matter of time until rivals started to challenge it. The current Range Rover is still hard to beat when it comes to an SUV that offers sublime luxury and serious off-roading potential but Land Rover isn’t resting on its laurels.

The Range Rover and its Range Rover Sport cousin are approaching the midway point in their respective life cycles and to keep them fresh Land Rover will introduce some subtle updates. We’ve already spied a prototype for the updated version of the Range Rover Sport and today it’s the Range Rover which is the focus of our spy shots.

The prototype is sporting a new grille and a new bumper at the front. The design of the intakes on this front bumper is the only significant change. The wheel pattern is also one we haven’t seen on the Range Rover before.

It’s not clear what mechanical updates are planned though we could finally see a gasoline-electric hybrid version on offer here in the United States. A diesel-electric hybrid version is offered overseas. Note, a pure diesel option was introduced here for the 2016 model year.

The current Range Rover was introduced as a 2013 model. That means we should see this update introduced for the 2017 model year although it could be delayed until 2018 to coincide with the update for the Range Rover Sport. Look for a debut to take place late this year or early next.

Mercedes - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - Mercedes-AMG confirms GLC63, drift mode for new E63 - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

2018 Mercedes-AMG GLC63 spy shots - Image via S. Baldauf/SB-Medien

Mercedes-AMG had an onslaught of new performance cars on show at this week’s 2016 New York Auto Show.
The list included the updated CLA45 and new E43 sedans, the new GLC43 andGLC43 Coupe SUVs, and the stunning C63 Cabriolet.
The official tuner to Mercedes-Benz also confirmed in New York that the GLC and GLC Coupe SUVs would eventually join the “63” club.
Speaking with reporters at the show, Mercedes-AMG boss Tobias Moers said both a GLC63 and GLC63 Coupe were coming. He said they were due early next year. The news isn't a huge surprise, though, as the first prototype for the new GLC63 was recently spotted.

Both will feature Mercedes-AMG’s familiar twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine. There will likely be a regular GLC63 with 469 horsepower and an even sportier GLC63 S with 503 hp.

But before they arrive, Mercedes-AMG will launch the new E63, which Moers said will debut a new “drift mode” designed to make it easier and safer to engage in a little sideways action when hitting the track.

BMW - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - BMW teases tons of new vehicles including a giant SUV and an ultra-luxury electric car - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

BMW has been going wild around its 100th anniversary celebrations this month, first with its Vision Next 100 concept car — a wild interpretation of what an Ultimate Driving Machine might look like a few decades from now. (And "wild" is an understatement, considering it has several hundred morphing polygons embedded in the dashboard that undulate to communicate things to to the driver.)

But the Vision Next 100 wasn't the only news on BMW's agenda. There are a couple more futuristic concept cars in the works from BMW brands Rolls-Royce and Mini, for one. Then there's a whole host of real, actual stuff you can buy that's going to roll out over the coming months.

In a press release issued today, BMW runs through a host of programs it's working on. It's a little difficult to unpack, honestly — there are a lot of buzzwords BMW has packed into this thing, first of which is iNEXT. BMW uses iNEXT to refer to a "revolutionary new BMW i model that will raise premium individual mobility to previously unknown levels," featuring some form of autonomous driving capability, an electric powertrain, and a "trailblazing interior design." It's unclear whether the iNEXT name will make it to production, but by all appearances, this car is going to end up as BMW's electric flagship — possibly a 7 Series equivalent (or even fancier) but packed with a bunch of next-gen tech and Tesla-like propulsion.

BMW is also confirming the release of a drop-top i8, which we saw teased at CES this year as the i Vision Future Interaction concept (interestingly, this was the second time we've seen an i8 Spyder concept, but the first time in a couple years). This year, BMW expects to have a total of seven plug-in hybrid or pure electric models across its brands. In the future, a hybrid Mini will be coming, but it sounds like that won't be on the road in 2016.

Speaking of the i8, BMW is relaunching its i brand with Project i 2.0, which is shifting its focus from electrification to "an equally ambitious path with respect to automated and fully networked driving." That can mean a lot of things, but BMW calls out a few features and focus areas in particular that it's working on for its i cars, including HD mapping and sensors (especially useful for self-driving tech), cloud connectivity, and artificial intelligence. In the Vision Next 100 concept, BMW showed a weird little gemstone-shaped thing called the "Companion" that it asserted could learn a driver's habits over time to start making decisions for them, so that's probably closely related to the company's interest in AI.

In the meantime, a refreshed i3 with a bigger battery and better range is expected later this year. That's good — the current i3 manages sub-100-mile runs between charges, while cheaper cars like the new-generation Nissan Leaf and the upcoming Chevy Bolt are hitting 150 and up.

BMW i3 charging

Beyond electrification and connectivity, though, there's still BMW's meat and potatoes — and the company has some news for more traditional car fans, too. First up, there's a BMW X7 coming, which will be a giant SUV to do battle with the Escalades of the world. Next — and perhaps most exciting — there's "a further expansion of the M product range" coming, which is BMW's high-performance brand. The M2 is promising to be the most exciting M car in ages, so BMW's riding a wave of M hype right now that it's undoubtedly looking to capitalize on.

We don't have photos or details on any of these things yet, but the year is young: there are plenty of auto shows to come, and it looks like at least some of this news is going to extend into 2017. Buckle down.

Mercedes - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - Mercedes to preview pickup in concept form at 2016 Paris Auto Show - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

Teaser sketch for potential Mercedes-Benz pickup truck

Mercedes-Benz is working on a mid-size pickup truck, though whether the vehicle will make it to the United States is still up in the air.

This teaser sketch was released at the original announcement of the truck in early 2015. According to Auto Express, a concept at the 2016 Paris Auto Show this October will provide a closer indication of what we can expect for the production model due out in late 2017 or early the following year.

The new truck, which we’ve heard might be called a GLT or even an X-Class, will be a serious workhorse with some luxury thrown in, as opposed to a proper luxury offering with a bed out back. That’s because the truck will be based on the rugged, body-on-frame platform found in the latest Nissan NP300 Navara. Nissan alliance partner Renault will get its own version, which the French automaker previewed last year with the Alaskan concept.

All three trucks will be built at Nissan’s plant located in Barcelona, Spain, as well as a Renault plant in Cordoba, Argentina. Distinct styling and interiors will be used to differentiate them.

Mercedes will also go with its own powertrains, according to Auto Express. The likely units will be 4- and 6-cylinder engines, in both gasoline and diesel flavors. A hybrid option is also expected.

Prototypes for Mercedes’ truck should turn up later this year.

Jaguar - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - Barn find Jaguar E-Type with Beatles connection up for auction - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

Jaguar E-Type barn find

A Jaguar E-Type found hiding under a hedge in rural England is headed to auction, but what's most significant about the dusty and shapely coupe might be its first owner.

Sold new to Ivor Arbiter, the owner of Drum City and Sound and London, the E-Type arrived about the time The Beatles were really beginning to take off. Arbiter was a well-known figure in the '60s London music scene, and he's perhaps best remembered for designing the "Drop T" logo for the famous British band.
According to auctioneer COYS, which will offer the E-Type in London next week, Arbiter's firm was paid just £5 for the design that would unquestionably become iconic. Arbiter actually commissioned a local painter, Eddie Stokes, to hand paint the logo during his lunch hour. This was, of course, just before Beatlemania really took off.

As for the E-Type, it was passed between a few owners in the '60s and was parked at some point in 1969.
The still-dusty car arrives at auction at what could be the height of the barn find craze. It will be offered at the Royal Horticultural Society, Lindley Hall, Vincent Square, Westminster, London, on Tuesday, March 8

Aston Martin - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - How The New Aston Martin DB11's Design Compares To Astons Of The Past - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

How The New Aston Martin DB11's Design Compares To Astons Of The Past

There’s a new Aston Martin DB! It goes to 11! Hilarious. We’re currently having an office debate over whether or not the new DB11 is pretty compared to the DB9, which is ridiculous because it is—just like the DB6 was still pretty when it followed the iconic DB5.

There seems to be some disagreement among your Jalopnik staff about the new Aston Martin DB11.

Basically, I think the DB11 is to the DB9 what the DB6 was to the DB5.

Nobody scoffs at a DB6! They just all think it’s a DB5, so it’s more of an “oh.” To make this argument easier to divide friendships and maybe more, I’ve created some easy comparisons below.

The DB5 and DB6:
The DB9 and DB11:

More to my point, a slightly older and maybe facelifted Monica Bellucci is still the beautiful, enigmatic Monica Bellucci. A nip/tucked DB9 with a new V12 heart is still a perfect Aston Martin. We all knew it would be next to impossible for the DB11 to meet expectations following the decades of drool over the DB9, and it’s okay! The DB11 is still a gorgeous design, and will be for another decade of drool.
Just think about the DB6 for a moment; it debuted in 1965, the same year as the fourth James Bond film Thunderball hit theaters and became the biggest movie of all time ever back then—featuring a DB5. Not only that, but the DB5 was already massively popular following the success of the previous Bond film, Goldfinger—a movie that made the DB5 so iconic James Bond still drives it today.

There was no way in hell Aston Martin was going to go a completely new direction with the DB6, just like they haven’t in following the DB9 with the DB11.

For those who don’t like the DB11, just remember that Aston followed the DB6 with the massively different DBS, which is where you can trace the basic lines of the DB7, DB9, and DB11 from. So whatever follows the DB11 may be revolutionary, but it also doesn’t have to be!
Let your Astons be pretty in whatever form! We all win

Audi - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - 2017 Audi TT RS leaked - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

Following the successful launch of the new R8 supercar, the next high-performance model from the Audi Sport division will be a new TT RS.

The car isn’t due for its world debut until later this year but a completely undisguised version has been spotted.

This photo, from Instagram user autogespot_spain, was taken at a gas station in Granada. It reveals the aggressive bumper of the new TT RS, which was always covered in camouflage gear in previous spy shots.
The basic formula of the new TT RS will be much the same as the previous model, which we found to be a very impressive car. Power will come from a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-5 and will be sent to the ground via a standard quattro all-wheel-drive system. Peak output should eclipse the 360 horsepower of the previous model—we think it will be up around 400 horses.

One key difference between the new car and its predecessor, we’re hearing, will be the lack of availability of a manual transmission. Yes, the new TT RS is thought to be coming exclusively with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

A reveal shouldn’t be far considering the car is out and about sans any disguise. Sales in the United States, though, aren’t expected to start until early next year. Note, if you’re the type that just can’t live with a small sports coupe, the TT RS’s mechanical package will be offered up in a new RS 3 sedan that’s also U.S.-bound.

Mercedes - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - 2017 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class First Drive - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

What’s the best pick for a sun-drenched, cross-country luxury-car road trip for two—on a route that doesn’t shy away from challenging mountain two-laners? The set of contenders has reshuffled over the years, but the Mercedes-Benz SL holds strong on the shortlist.

For 2017, this roadster original has reached a crossroads in the Mercedes-Benz lineup—one that helps refresh and redefine this model. With more powerful engines, new nine-speed automatic transmissions, svelte styling upgrades, and some new trick chassis technology, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class models hones its driver’s car credentials just a little bit more, and gets what adds up to more than a mid-cycle refresh.
After taking a Southern California road trip of our own (guided by Mercedes-Benz), this past week—250-plus miles in several different SL models—we can say that the SL stretches its luxury roadster boundaries more than ever.

The way we see it, the current generation of the SL feels far more like a grand-touring coupe than an all-out sports car—and given that, there are two potential sweet spots in the lineup.

Relearning the ABCs
But first, a little background is in order. Up until this year, our preference within the SL lineup was the base car, with its steel-spring suspension, supplemented by a variable damper system that adjusts with the Dynamic Select modes (now Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus, and Individual)—and, to some degree, to driving style and road conditions.

Active Body Control (ABC) is a full active suspension system, controlled by hydraulics and capable of adjusting its parameters in milliseconds. It helps erase lift during hard acceleration, nosedive during hard braking, and body roll (tilting to the outside of the corner) during hard cornering. But this system, which has been offered as an option for years, has been a mixed blessing, because the sensations it provides tend to feel unnatural in tight switchbacks, as the car stays flat.

Now with a new Curve Tilting function for ABC, it allows that system’s great dynamic prowess but lets the car lean up to 2.65 degrees—into corners, like a motorcycle rider would, or as a driver and passenger track their eyes through a corner—so as to effectively reduce the lateral Gs.

It’s a dynamic trick, but an incredibly effective one, and it makes the rather heavy SL not just feel more nimble in switchbacks and quick transitions, but more settled, also reducing head-toss and road-weariness on such roads. SL63 models really make the most of this, too—not entirely because of the added horsepower and torque, but because of these models' limited-slip/locking rear differential.

The new Curve Tilting ABC is available on every SL model, though, from the base SL450 and its twin-turbo V-6 to the twin-turbo V-8 SL550, as well as the SL63 AMG and SL65 AMG models.
Four models, delivering to very different expectations

From a powertrain standpoint, it’s the twin-turbo V-8 in the SL550 that best seems to fit the relaxed yet strong touring character that’s a natural with this car. It now makes 449 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, and matches up quite well with the nine-speed automatic transmission (although we noticed some uncouth behavior at low speeds and gentle throttle in a few cases during our drive).

More than 50 percent of SL buyers have been choosing the V-6 version of the outgoing SL, and it’s easy to see why. Especially in this new, more powerful 3.0-liter twin-turbo version (362-hp, 369 lb-ft), the SL450 feels nearly as quick in driving anywhere near legal speeds; while the sound is a little more strident, as long as you don’t crave the character of a V-8 this engine will do just fine in flaunting your (or your spouse’s) taste in roadster style.

Off in the opposite direction, there are the AMG versions. In a car that’s been designed with such inherent grace, the AMG SLs can feel a little forced. That said, the SL63 is the meticulously engineered, sharply-tuned brute of the lineup. Its pulsating, bellowing, crackling high-revving V-8 (577 hp and 664 lb-ft) always feels just a little over-the-top in sounds, sensations, and actual power delivery, and the seven-speed AMG Speedshift transmission is a gem with this combination, managing to shift with delicate precision at gentle throttle openings yet bang out racing-influenced powershifts when you need to move quickly.
It’s not quite the snarling, ebullient AMG GT, but it’s also a heck of a lot more livable.

Truly, seven speeds are more than enough; the awesome, responsive seven-speed AMG transmission arguably does a better job in most respects than the nine-speed in the mainline models—and it allows full manual control, holding the selected gear even with the accelerator mashed to the floor.

But there’s no need to even use the manual mode, as the electronic shift controls feel telepathic, blipping to a lower gear with just a dab of the brakes before a corner or to control speed on a steep downhill.
All the models in the lineup now come with engine stop/start; and it's the SL63 AMG, surprisingly, that has the most subtlety to that system's operation, masterfully quelling the momentary shake you feel slightly in the non-AMG models.

We didn’t drive the 621-hp, V-12-powered S65 this time, but it remains the banshee of the lineup, a car that’s technically the quickest and fastest in the lineup, but with enough additional weight to point back to the S63 as the superior handler.

The styling tweaks for 2017, on the outside, are a relatively minor point in all but the full-frontal view of the SL. While they provide some synergy to the rest of the current M-B lineup, they also give the SL more of a polarized, two-sided design ethos: chiseled, and more like an over-the-top sport sedan front end, but with a graceful touring coupe rear two-thirds. Purely from the side profile, it’s still far from the prettiest, most perfectly proportioned SL; but from the other collective angles the facelift manages to help command quite the presence.

A calm cabin, within tempestuous performance

Comfort in the SL models, no matter which one you choose, is better than what you’ll find in most prestige luxury cars costing quite a bit more. Highlights include strong cooled seats, massage seat features, and, of course, Airscarf, which blows warmed air onto your neck on cool mornings. The top will raise or lower at up to 25 mph, and through some folding wizardry it leaves enough trunk space for two airline carry-on suitcases, plus a backpack or two. It’s a shallow space, but a usable one—and behind each of the front seats there’s a deep, lidded-and-hinged storage bin.

Top down, you can power up an air deflector that, with the side windows up simultaneously, is one of the most effective in any convertible made, creating a zone that lets you be relatively soft-spoken at 70 mph. Power up the top, and the SL truly turns into a tight, vaultlike coupe; a passenger might have no idea that this moonlights as a convertible.

About the only feature we’re not convinced about on the SL is what’s front and center—its COMAND interface. Compared to the rival high-end versions of iDrive or MMI, it feels limited and too dependent on remembering text-based menus. While it’s more excusable in a $35k CLA, being in a $150k+ SL 63, otherwise a tour de force of technology and engineering, underscores that point.

A heavy helping of safety tech
At the base SL450 level, these models include Keyless Go with Hands-Free Access, Parktronic Parking Assist, a Harmon Kardon surround-sound system, and a Collision Prevention Assist Plus feature with active brake assist. A Driver Assistance package heaps on more active-safety items onto the SL, including Distronic Plus advanced cruise control with steering assist, an Active Brake Assist system with cross-traffic functionality, Active Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist, and Pre-Safe Brake, which will help actively brake at up to 40 percent power, while sounding an alert, if traffic is stopped ahead. The moment the driver does touch the brake pedal, 100 percent of braking power is delivered.

Other key options on the SL include softer Nappa leather upholstery, ambient lighting, and the Active Body Control with Curve Tilting function. And there’s Magic Sky Control, which makes much of the roof glass, with the capability to adjust light transmission with the touch of a button.

Additionally, on the AMG models you can get a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen BeoSound system.
Taking a step back, the SL is peerless. The Maserati GranTurismo Convertible, Aston Martin V8 Vantage Convertible, and Porsche 911 Cabriolet all sacrifice just a bit more quiet, long-legged road-trip comfort, while, perhaps, delivering a little more edginess at those times when you're pushing the limits.
Collectively, the revised SL lineup goes farther, employing some technological tricks, as well as some serious engineering, for more seat-of-the-pants thrills, all to full advantage—pushing the limits between what defines a racy roadster and a downright luxurious convertible. Expect no less.

Range Rover - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - Range Rover Holland and Holland Edition: A Shotgunner's Dream- Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

Netflix’s series “Longmire” might be an ideal product placement for the Range Rover Holland & Holland limited edition, a product of the Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations toy shop.

Rival Bentley is moving into a new and unexplored super-premium SUV market space with Bentayga, and the Autobiography series of Range Rovers is a classic English counter-punch. Priced from $244,5001, it’s safe to assume the Holland & Holland Rangie is the best of the breed. Power comes from the same 550 horsepower supercharged V8 I sampled in the Range Rover Sport SVR, the firm’s high-performance SUV.

BMW - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - BMW Planning Mega-Luxe 9-series - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

BMW Concept CS

BMW is pondering a model line positioned above the 7-series, company sources confirm. The project is in its concept stage and the vehicle is far from being finalized, but the most likely body style is a low-slung four-door sedan with a sloping roofline (a “four-door coupe”). A large two-door coupe and a convertible pair is another, less likely possibility.

The vehicle will share its powertrain and major chassis components with the 7-series, and it is expected to have high structural carbon-fiber content. It will be offered with V-8 and V-12 engines and come with an impressive suite of assistance systems that include semi-autonomous driving functions.

BMW’s upper-luxury line-topper is the spiritual successor of the Concept CS (pictured at top). That coupelike upper-luxury sedan first debuted at the 2007 Shanghai auto show and was slated to be put into production. Three years later, it was shelved to free up resources for BMW’s electric and hybrid i sub-brand, and its project leader was retired.
The new model will likely be called the 9-series—or, if it emerges as a two-door project, BMW is expected to resurrect the 8-series moniker instead. We expect the new entry, priced well above the $100K mark, no sooner than 2020. BMW’s efforts mirror similar projects under consideration by Audi and Mercedes-Benz; Bentley is considering a four-door coupe, as well.

Jaguar - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - 2016 Jaguar XF Test Drive - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

Jaguars have always been many things.

Sexy. Sophisticated. Swift.

But economy cars?

Well, let’s just say times have changed.

OK, so the 2016 Jaguar XF isn’t exactly a steal. But, at $52,895, it’s less expensive than any comparable European sedan, as well as the Cadillac CTS. And this isn’t some ancient model that Jaguar is trying to squeeze a couple of extra years out of. It’s the first all-new XF since Ford sold the company in 2009, and it’s a very modern machine.

The XF is largely constructed from aluminum, and at just 3,770 pounds it isn’t just the lightest car in the luxury midsize sport sedan class, it tips the scales more like a compact. Its standard engine is a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 that’s good for 340 hp and 30 mpg on the highway, a combination that can’t be beat – unless you get the top-of-the-line XF S, like my test car, which delivers 380 hp with the same fuel economy. Magic.

Jaguar hasn’t hired discount designers, either. Though there’s nothing outrageous about the XF’s style, its dreamy face and muscular elegance are as red carpet worthy as Chris Hemsworth playing Thor while wearing a tuxedo. As I drove it through Manhattan, eyes were constantly picking it out of traffic, and heads were turning like the possessed. There may even have been some drool.

Related Image
16-jag-xf-876.jpg
jaguar

The XF’s interior is similarly restrained and equally successful. The only flourishes are hidden air vents that open when you turn on the fan, a little theater that dazzles first-time passengers and never really gets old.

At first glance, it’s hard to spot where any cost-cutting took place. There is a fair amount of plastic scattered around, and perhaps the leather isn’t as buttery as it could be, but everything looks good and really doesn’t disappoint at this price.

The new XF is pretty much the same size as the one it replaces, but it has a longer wheelbase that provides a very welcome increase in rear legroom. Unfortunately, when it comes to the back doors, fashion has won out over form. It’s a tight squeeze getting through them. Remember to let grandma ride shotgun.
16-jag-xf-cabin.jpg
 Jaguar

Four-zone temperature control isn’t a breakthrough feature, but the driver and front passenger can also choose individually whether to have the air blow into their faces, at their legs, or nowhere at all. This could save marriages.

Since it’s brand new and a luxury car, the XF is available with all the blind spot-monitoring, lane departure-mitigating, radar cruise-controlling features you expect these days. But since it’s a Jaguar, you shouldn’t care about any of that.

The XF isn’t blisteringly fast, but it is fleet, and boy does it know its way around a curve. A perfect 50/50 weight distribution helps here, as does the XF S’s adaptive suspension system, which is nothing short of miraculous in the way it provides pitch and roll perfect handling along with a comfortable ride.
16-jag-climate.jpg
foxnews

The engine growls when it’s angry, but not as loudly as some other Jags’. When you’re taking it easy the car is so quiet that you might as well be in outer space. Combined with the unruffled ride, it becomes very easy to lose track of your speed. To that end, Jaguar provides a limiter that you can set to a speed that it only lets you break if you push the pedal all the way to the metal. It can also monitor the road signs and adjust the speed of the car to the prevailing limit for you, but I couldn’t figure out how to get it to work, even after reading the manual. Maybe I was distracted by the 360-degree camera system that doesn't automatically turn off when you're going faster than a walking pace, as every other automaker's does, but shouldn't, because it's cool.

Jaguar is a sister company to Land Rover, and the XF is available with all-wheel-drive. But even without it, the XF has an SUV-like trick for getting up slippery slopes. The very impressive-sounding All Surface Progress Control is an electronic crawling feature that can hold any speed from 2-19 mph as the traction control goes to work. You just take your feet off the pedals and steer the car toward your hilltop ski chalet.

Of course, if you own one of those, you’re probably in the market for an actual SUV. Thinking about it, based on sales, everyone wants one of those these days, while “cars” are a dying breed. This is likely the reason for Jaguar’s recent shift to value pricing on its sedans and coupes, not just the XF, while it readies its first SUV, the upcoming F-Pace.

It’s a shame, because cars are good. And this one would be even if it weren’t so cheap. I suggest you get one while they’re not hot.

VW - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - VW Teases Concept Previewing New Subcompact Crossover - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

Volkswagen has released teaser shots of a new crossover concept it plans to unveil at next week’s 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The concept is believed to preview a subcompact crossover due out in 2018. This subcompact crossover is part of a wave of new high-riding models due from VW over the coming years.
With the second-generation Tiguan growing considerably in size compared to its predecessor, VW sees an opportunity to launch at least two smaller crossovers to capitalize on the strong demand for high-riding vehicles across the globe.

As the Tiguan is now more of a small crossover than a compact, VW will plug the gap in the compact crossover segment with a new model based on the T-Roc concept from 2014. This compact crossover has been confirmed for sale in the United States and is being developed alongside Audi’s Q2. It should be revealed later this year or in early 2017.

The second of VW’s pint-sized crossovers will be the subcompact being previewed in concept form at the upcoming Geneva show. The concept is thought to be called a T-Cross and judging by these teasers it should have a very rugged look. VW hasn’t mentioned many details, though the automaker states the concept will have an interior almost completely devoid of switches—just like in the recent Budd-e electric van concept.

The production model it will eventually spawn will share much in common with the next-generation VW Polo hatch. It’s possible the subcompact crossover will also have an Audi twin called a Q1.

Audi - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - Jay Leno Drives The 2017 Audi R8: Video - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

Audi’s second-generation R8 has just gone sale in the United States and one of the first guys behind the wheel, as usual, is Jay Leno.

The comedian has a soft spot for the R8, as the original was one of the first cars he filmed after starting up his web series Jay Leno’s Garage.

He appears pretty pleased with the new model, though he couldn’t help himself from pointing out that the car no longer offers a manual transmission.

Another major difference with the second generation is that it now comes exclusively with a V-10 engine (at least for now). The V-10 comes in two flavors, though, and Leno tested the more potent R8 V10 Plus model which comes with 610 horsepower.

It allows the car to reach 62 mph from rest in 3.2 seconds and hit a top speed of 205 mph, though those figures are probably a bit conservative as the Audi rep in the video is quick to point out.
