Jaguar - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - XE SV Project 8 super sedan joins Jaguar's 'Ring taxi fleet - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

Jaguar's XE SV Project 8 is currently the fastest production four-door car around the Nürburgring, with one of the cars completing a lap of the notorious German racetrack last November in a time of only 7:21.23.
Jaguar is now offering the chance to experience a Nürburgring hot lap in the XE SV Project, as the automaker has just added one to its Nürburgring Race Taxi service.

While the laps aren't likely to match the XE SV Project 8's record run, Jaguar's professional drivers will ensure your heart rate jumps. For example, the cars regularly hit speeds in excess of 155 mph, and we're told you'll get to experience forces of up to 1.8 g at some points, such as the Karussell.

The price for a hot lap in the XE SV Project 8 is 199 euros (approximately $226) and the service runs until mid-November when the Nürburgring closes for the winter season. It will run again in early 2019 when the racetrack reopens.

2018 Jaguar XE SV Project 8

The XE SV Project 8 is limited to one passenger as the car's installed Track Pack means there's no rear seat. Jaguar's XJR575 sedan is also available and with this model the cost of a lap can be split between three passengers.

Jaguar is only building 300 examples of the XE SV Project 8 and the price tag in the United States is $192,000. Sure that's steep, but this isn’t just an XE with a body kit. The car is built by hand by Jaguar Land Rover’s SVO division and many of its internals are unique. The modifications to the standard XE are so extensive that the headlights needed to be moved and the nose of the car brought forward.

Under the hood sits Jaguar's familiar 5.0-liter supercharged V-8, tuned here to deliver 592 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. This is the engine's highest tune yet and makes the XE SV Project 8 the most powerful Jaguar road car to date. Jaguar says the 0-60 mph sprint happens in just 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 200 mph is possible.

Range Rover - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - Land Rover is building a special Defender inside a London store - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

Land Rover is building a one-off Defender for famed London department store Selfridges, the brand announced on Tuesday. The truck will serve as centerpiece of the currently under-construction men's wear department, and both are being prepped for an Oct. 29 reveal.

To get the Defender into the store, the truck was stripped down to its chassis. Land Rover Classic team members helped shove it through a first-floor window and now it's being reassembled ahead of the grand reopening of this section of the store.

The Selfridges Edition Land Rover Defender Works V8 is under construction

This particular Defender started out as a 110 pickup before the Land Rover Classic team converted it into a one-off 110 Soft Top convertible. On the nose of the reassembled truck will sit a special Selfridges-branded hood finished in the store's trademark yellow hue. To contrast that look, the rest of the truck will feature Bronze Green paint. Land Rover Classic will fit half-height doors and a fold down front windshield. Gorgeous wood slats for the bed floor will round out the exterior style.

Inside, upgrades will be plentiful, the most notable being a recently launched Jaguar Land Rover Classic infotainment system. It looks period appropriate while delivering modern tech such as Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. The reassembled truck will also have period-style seats with chocolate leather upholstery and ivory cross-stitching.

The upgrades under the skin are even better, though, and they are already in place. Under that hood will rest a 400-horsepower V-8 engine. This mill cranks out nearly 400 lb-ft of torque and sends its grunt through a ZF 8-speed gearbox. Land Rover Classic upgraded the brakes and suspension, which means this truck should drive better than any original.

Hopefully, this Defender Works V8 won't sit idly in the Selfridges store for too long. It's clearly been born to run, and we hope it is given the chance to do so.

These Defender Works V8 trucks are the last line of the old guard for the Defender family and a way to send the truck out in style. A new Defender waits just around the bend, and we hope it holds onto the historically cool styling of the original.

Audi - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - 2018 Audi R8 V10 Plus Coupe Competition arrives, limited to 10 cars - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

Audi Sport has stuffed its latest R8 derivative with the best of its performance parts bin. The 2018 R8 V10 Plus Coupe Competition Package is now the most performance-oriented model Audi's go-fast division has ever offered.

The car is fitted with a host of Audi Sport performance parts, and some come directly from the brand's motorsport experience.

In total, engineers shaved 28.6 pounds from the R8 V10 Plus with the Competition package. The savings come from titanium backing plates for the carbon-ceramic brake pads, which erased 2.2 pounds from the car, and 20-inch light alloy wheels. The wheels are similar in design to the R8 GT4 racer and take the other 26.4 pounds off of the car's final curb weight.

A carbon fiber aero kit spices the R8 V10 Plus' design up while increasing downforce—double the amount over a standard V10 Plus coupe of 114.6 pounds at 93.2 mph. At the car's top speed of 196 mph, the carbon fiber kit increases downforce by 330.7 pounds. There is more drag, though, with the drag coefficient increasing from 0.36 to 0.42. Sadly, there's no extra power so output remains at 610 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque.

2018 Audi R8 V10 Plus Coupe Competition Package

Each R8 V10 Plus sporting the Competition package will be finished in Suzuka Gray with black racing shell seats with red contrast stitching and leather finishes inside. A blackout package also finishes the grille surround, front lower air inlets, and rear air outlets in black. The steering wheel features an Alcantara wrap with a 12 o'clock marker, and drivers can take advantage of a standard Bang & Olufsen 13-speaker sound system.

Pricing for the car starts at $238,600, which includes destination. Audi will bring just 10 examples to the United States with deliveries to start in November.

It's the latest special edition from the German luxury brand following the A4 Ultrasport announced in August. The Ultrasport marks the end of the A4 offered with a manual transmission and borrows heavily from the Audi Sport parts bin, much like the R8's Competition package.

Note, Audi is working on a major update for the R8 due out next year. Among the changes will be revised styling front and rear and hopefully more power.

Mercedes - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City- Mercedes-AMG One hypercar delayed until 2020 - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

The launch of Mercedes-AMG's One hypercar has been pushed back to mid-to-late 2020. That's the word of AMG boss Tobias Moers who spoke recently with Top Gearmagazine.
The One was previewed in prototype form as the Project One at the 2017 Frankfurt auto show and confirmed at the time for a launch in 2019. But getting the car's Formula 1 engine suitable for road duty—certainly no easy feat—is taking longer than expected.
“We have a delay; it’s not a secret,” Moers said. “There were some adjustments to be made on the powertrain.”

Tobias Moers

He went on to explain that there are many issues, singling out a stable idle as one that's particularly challenging.
The 1.6-liter turbocharged V-6 at the heart of the One's hybrid powertrain normally idles at 5,000 rpm in Mercedes-AMG's F1 race cars, but for road use AMG needs to get the idle down to 1,200 rpm while still meeting emissions regulations.
“You have leakage in the throttles in Formula 1 and nobody cares, because it runs at a 5,000-rpm idle,” Moers gave as an example of one of the issues. “At a 1,200-rpm idle, you have to meet the emissions regulations. You need a stable, proper idle. If it’s unstable, your emissions are unstable.”

Mercedes AMG W07 Hybrid 2016 Formula One car power unit

Moers and his team at AMG are working closely with Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains (HPP) in the United Kingdom to sort the issues. HPP is the division that develops and builds the Mercedes-AMG F1 team's engines and has been integral in the development of the One hypercar.
The good news is that the project is now back on track, Moers assured. He also mentioned that customers aren't concerned because they want the car to be launched without issue, as some have experienced problems with previous hybrid hypercars they've owned.

Other interesting tidbits revealed by the AMG boss is that the One will sound just like an F1 car and when pushed to the limits will feel like a GT3 race car in fast forward. He also confirmed an 11,000-rpm redline (down on F1's 14,000 rpm), an engine life of 50,000 kilometers after which a rebuild will be neccessary, a top speed of 217 mph, and the possibility of slick tires being made available for drivers that want to track the car. AMG's tire partner in the project is Michelin.

BMW - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - Fresh details on BMW i4 electric car due in 2021 - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

BMW i Vision Dynamics concept, 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show

BMW early next decade will introduce an electric car badged an i4 and previewed by the i Vision Dynamics concept unveiled during the 2017 Frankfurt auto show.

BMW Group CEO Harald Krüger made the confirmation during March's 2018 Geneva auto show, adding that the i4 will be one of the 12 electric cars the automaker will launch by the end of 2025.

Before the i4 arrives, the BMW Group will launch an electric Mini hardtop in 2019, an electric BMW X3 in 2020, and a production version of the BMW Vision iNext concept in 2021. The i4 will follow the iNext later in 2021.

BMW i Vision Dynamics concept, 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show

The i4 is expected to resemble a member of the next 4-Series family but will feature elements to ensure it stands out. Citing company insiders, Auto Express reported Wednesday that the i4 will be most closely related to the next 4-Series Gran Coupe but may sit higher to allow for space for batteries above the axles and not just between them. This ties in rumors that the i4 will fill the void of the 3-Series Gran Turismo that we recently learned will likely be phased out after the current generation.

Speaking with BMW’s head of i division, Robert Irlinger, Auto Express also learned that the i4 will offer up to 375 miles on a single charge. The iNext could be even higher with 435 miles of range. Both figures are based on the new WLTP cycle introduced in Europe and will likely end up lower when rated by the EPA. The huge range estimates will be made possible by BMW's fifth-generation battery design in sizes ranging up to 120 kilowatt-hours.

The closest rival to the i4 will be Tesla's Model 3. However, Mercedes-Benz is thought to be readying an electric car similar in size to the C-Class and there could be more electric offerings in this segment by the time 2021 rolls around.

Audi - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City -1,200-hp electric Audi RS 3 hits 130 mph in reverse for new world record - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

An all-electric Audi RS 3 has set a new world record, though unofficially. Driven by Daniel Abt, the modified sedan hit 130 mph...in reverse. Abt posted video of the attempt to YouTube on Tuesday.

Daniel Abt is part of the Audi Sport Abt Formula E team. The car was an Audi RS 4 modified by the Schaeffler Group to produce a staggering 1,200 horsepower. That's instant horsepower, too, since this is a fully electric four-door. Gone is the entertaining 2.5-liter turbocharged inline 5-cylinder engine. It's been replaced by not one, but four Formula E electric motors. Each one produces 295 hp.

Image result for 1,200-hp electric Audi RS 3 hits 130 mph in reverse

Using a clean stretch of flat tarmac, Abt pulled the RS 3 up to the starting line. Instead of selecting a forward gear, he put the car into reverse and made several runs before he set the final record. He started out slowly, hitting 100 mph on his first run, but eventually smoked the tires as he headed toward the record books.
This is, after all, a car built to embarrass any so-called supercar that lines up next to it. Abt has used this RS 3 to demonstrate straight-line speed in the past, as he's taken down Porsches, Lamborghinis, and Audis, often while fighting for traction yet still winning races.

An electric car is an ideal candidate for a record run in reverse. Transmission gearing limits the speed of internal combustion engine cars to 10 or maybe 15 mph in reverse and those speeds can be terrifying.
Abt was quite nervous to go so fast backwards, but he did it anyway. In fact, he drag raced a Porsche 911 GT2 RS prior to making his fastest runs. In a run up to 178 kph (almost 111 mph), the RS 3 beat the Porsche, with the Audi running backward and the Porsche forward.

Prior to Abt's attempt at the record, it stood at an even 100 mph. Now it's 130 mph.

During Abt's final two runs, the danger of driving that fast in reverse became apparent. The car spun out when he got on the brake both times. Still, in the last attempt, he set the record at 209.7 kph, or 130.3 mph.
Abt noted that this is an unofficial record, and it's not clear if it's entered into any official record book. Top-speed records usually have to be repeated in both directions, but Abt didn't make that attempt. He was so jittery after the last run and subsequent spin-out that he had to get out of the car.

This might seem like an easy record to break. But some folks have trouble backing up at 5 mph, never mind 130 mph. The physics of the car change when the steerable wheels move to the back. Keeping it stable at that speed is difficult and Daniel Abt did a great job of setting what is at least an unofficial record with his modified Audi.

Range Rover - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - Quiet talk could be big hint about new Land Rover Defender plug-in hybrid - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

2015 Land Rover Defender ‘2,000,000’

Our best evidence yet of a Land Rover Defender powered by electrons surfaced this week and hinted at a 2020 arrival.

Employees at Land Rover-corporate parent Tata have posted publicly on social media about a "L663 PHEV" project due for 2020. A tipster pointed us toward a Tata engineer who reported working on next year's Range Rover, several future Jaguar models, and the so-called "L663 PHEV" project, all by their internal code names. "L663" is the internal code name used by the automaker for the new Defender.
A spokesman for Land Rover declined to comment on this story.

Although hardly a confirmation, Land Rover hasn't been coy about its plans for electrification and all signs point to the Defender's inclusion in those plans.

Last year, the company announced plans to electrify every new model from 2020 on, though that will actually start with a plug-in version of the 2019 Range Rover Sport due soon. We've already spied the new Defender, and it's expected to arrive in 2020.

Deductive logic tells us that the Defender will arrive with a plug-in version. If all Land Rovers will have electrified options by 2020, and the new Defender will arrive in 2020, does that mean that the Land Rover Defender will have an electrified option?

"That's as far as we're willing to go with that," Chris Marchand, executive vice president for Jaguar Land Rover North America, told Motor Authority last year.

That doesn't say much but we expect to hear more soon—social media or otherwise.

Jaguar - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - Jaguar XE SV Project 8 reveals its full fury on the dyno - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

There are many examples of automakers underrating their performance products. The latest data point is Jaguar's XE SV Project 8.

Harry Metcalfe of the Harry's Garage YouTube channel took his own example of the super sedan over to a friend's dyno and discovered that the quoted 592 crank horsepower figure is well on the conservative side.
Jaguar has built a wild sedan with its XE SV Project 8. In fact, the outrageous four door set a Nürburgring record when it lapped the lengthy circuit in just 7:21.23.

It's able to achieve its potent performance thanks to the supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 engine set up front, along with numerous other mods. All of the power is dished out to all four wheels and can propel the Project 8 from 0-60 mph in just 3.3 seconds and on to a top speed of 200 mph.

2018 Jaguar XE SV Project 8

Jaguar XE SV Project 8

Harry brings his car over to the dyno. It's strapped down and then fired up. After the throttle is matted to the floor, the computer reveals the true nature of this powerful Jaguar. Rather than 592 bhp, this XE produces 620 hp at the crank. According to the dyno software, that translates to 485 hp at the wheels. It's a fair bit of power loss, but it's in line with a vehicle making supercharged power and sending it through an automatic gearbox and all-wheel-drive system.

Metcalfe says he expected to find a bigger number than Jaguar was selling. The car feels more powerful than its spec sheet would otherwise have you believe. And now Harry has the proof to back up his perceptions gained from putting over 1,200 miles on the car.

Jaguar is only selling 300 examples of its uber sedan. This is an SVO special build. And it's an expensive one as well, with a price tag that starts at $192,000. An outrageous price to pay for a truly outrageous sedan. Car pooling will never sound this good, look this great, and be over this quickly.

Aston Martin - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - Aston Martin teases DBS GT Zagato, will sell it with DB4 GT Zagato continuation car - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

Teaser for Aston Martin DBS GT Zagato

Italian design house and coachbuilder Zagato turns 100 next year and will celebrate by working with one of its closest partners throughout the years: Aston Martin.

The two will collaborate on a new DBS GT Zagato based on the DBS Superleggera, a teaser for which was released Wednesday.

The teaser hints at a car that is thoroughly modern and barely resembling the DBS Superleggera on which it is based. Its creators say the car embodies the next evolution in Aston Martin Zagato design language, though signature elements remain such as a double-bubble roof and dramatically truncated tail.

It isn't clear if there will be any extra power from the DBS Superleggera's 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V-12, but we're sure few will complain with the stock 715-horsepower rating.

1960 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato
1960 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato

Just 19 examples will be built, though you won't be able to buy it by itself. Aston Martin will offer it together with a continuation example of the 1960s-era DB4 GT Zagato. The original DB4 GT Zagato was also built in a 19-car run. It was developed as a response to a need for a lighter version of the standard DB4 GT for racing.

The price to own the two cars, sold together in a package known as the Aston Martin DBZ Century Collection, is $7.9 million. While that's certainly steep we'll remind you that a previous DB4 GT Zagato continuation car, known as a Sanction II car, sold in 2012 for $1.9 million. Given the increase in classic car prices since then, we can only imagine what the car would be worth today.

“As an engineer I would always say my favorite Aston Martin is the next one, but I have to say I’m struggling to think of a finer two-car garage than this,” Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer said. “With Zagato celebrating its centenary next year, what better way to celebrate this landmark, and the long-standing bond between our two great companies, than creating these 19 pairs of cars.”

Buyers can expect to take delivery of their DB4 GT Zagato continuation car in the fourth quarter of 2019. The DBS GT Zagato will start delivery a year later. We should point out that only the DBS GT Zagato will be street legal, with the DB4 GT Zagato relegated to track use only likely due to it not meeting modern regulations.

Mercedes - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City- AMG A45 details surface: 8-speed dual-clutch, drift mode, 400-plus horsepower - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

2016 Mercedes-AMG A45 4Matic

Although all eyes were on the Mercedes-AMG A35 at the 2018 Paris motor show, it's the upcoming A45 that promises real performance credentials. Now we have the latest details on the AMG A45 hot hatchback straight from AMG boss Tobias Moers.

The chairman of the management board of Mercedes-AMG told Car Advice in a Tuesday report the next-generation A45 will be an "all-new story" and it has "nothing in common with what you know today." Specifically, he said the A-Class based hot hatch will boast an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, unlike the A35's 7-speed dual-clutch.

Additionally, a new all-wheel-drive system will give the AMG A45 the capability to keep sideways, effectively, a "drift mode." Car Advice reported that the technology powering the sideways action will likely be computer-controlled and come from the E63. The tech gives even novice drivers the ability to take the car sideways with little to no effort required for the fun.

Sending power to all four wheels will likely be a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine. The current mill makes 375 horsepower, but the next A45 will produce over 400 hp, according to Moers. It will also give the A45 plenty of distance apart from the A35, which was revealed with a 302-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine. Its performance specs also put it on par with the current A45, which gives the latter plenty of space to grow.

Aside from the added power and other goodies, AMG has worked over the chassis and frame to ensure a proper driving experience. Moers said AMG's additions have been an "improvement in every perspective" and the A45 will be more comfortable and rigid.

The next AMG A45 may not be the end of the line either. Rumors peg a hotter A45 S to arrive following the standard car, which will give AMG devotees plenty of options when it comes to performance hatchbacks. In the U.S., we'll make do with a future A35 sedan instead.

BMW - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - Rear-wheel-drive BMW 8-Series is coming but don't count on a V-12- Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

2019 BMW 8-Series

BMW's revived 8-Series arrives in showrooms in December but only in M850i xDrive coupe form, with prices confirmed to start at $112,895.

There are additional body styles and powertrains coming however, including a lighter, less expensive rear-wheel-drive model.

The information was confirmed to Go Auto by BMW Group product chief for luxury cars Carsten Groeber in an interview published Friday.

2019 BMW 8-Series

Unfortunately, he ruled out a wild version powered by the 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-12 currently offered in some versions of the 7-Series. Groeber said the engine, which delivers 600 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, would be too heavy for the 8-Series, which we'll remind you is already hefty at 4,478 pounds with just the V-8 and all-wheel drive.

“In our opinion a V-12 will be too heavy in the front,” he said.

When asked about a plug-in hybrid option in the 8-Series, Groeber downplayed the chances but didn't rule one out.

2019 BMW 8-Series

“Never say never,” he said. “There might be in the years to go. We are a learning company and as the market turns, if we need to do something we will react.”

Beyond the rear-wheel-drive model, potential 8-Series buyers can look forward to convertible and Gran Coupe liftback sedan body styles.

Each 8-Series body style is also expected to come with an M8 option, which will have a similar mechanical setup to what is currently offered in the M5 though perhaps with even more power. This means an all-wheel-drive system that can switch into rear-wheel-drive mode, as well as a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 which in the M5 is conservatively rated at 600 hp and 553 lb-ft. The M850i xDrive, which features the same engine, makes do with 523 hp and 553 lb-ft.

Audi - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - Rear-wheel-drive Audi R8 could return with supercar's facelift - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

2018 Audi R8 V10 RWS

Audi Sport is out testing prototypes for an updated R8, and a rear-wheel-drive variant could return with the freshening.

Autocar reported Tuesday that Audi marketing manager Linda Kurz commented on the return of a rear-driving R8. Specifically, she said the previous one, called the R8 V10 RWS (or Rear Wheel Series), was a "great success" for the company. She added another car along those lines is something the company, which is famous for its quattro all-wheel-drive branding, is looking into for the updated R8 which is expected for the 2020 model year.

The R8 RWS bowed as the bargain R8 with a $139,950 price tag. While that's still six figures for a buyer to swallow, it was over $26,000 cheaper than an R8 fitted with all-wheel drive. The RWS still put its power to the ground rather well, too, despite the lack of an all-wheel-drive system's extra traction. The RWS sent 540 horsepower from its 5.2-liter V-10 engine to the rear wheels only, and it was just 0.2 seconds slower with a 0-62 mph time of 3.7 seconds over a regular R8.

2018 Audi R8 V10 RWS

Audi Sport built just 999 examples of the R8 V10 RWS, and it appears a similar situation may be in store for the updated R8 range. What's unclear is if a future R8 V10 RWS would see a power increase over the current 540-hp figure. The same 5.2-liter V-10 engine makes 640 hp in the Lamborghini Huracán
Performante, which is 30 hp more than the current R8 V10 Plus trim. We'd imagine if a new R8 V10 RWS follows the original's formula, it will be another purist and bargain offering.

The updated R8 will wear a revised front and rear design with a wider grille, new intakes, and large oval exhaust outlets. The latter is a trait of all Audi Sport vehicles.

When the car does debut, it will likely mark the final round of major updates for the R8. Audi Sport at preasent does not have a plan to replace the supercar at the end of the life cycle, Audi R&D boss Peter Mertens said in a March interview. But, a report from earlier this month tipped a third-generation R8 to move to a fully electric powertrain. That would make a future RWS quite a collector's piece. Stay tuned.

Range Rover - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - Land Rover creates future Range Rover Sport for Hulu show - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

Hulu has a new show out called "The First," and Land Rover provides some star power with a futuristic vision of one of its vehicles. A Range Rover Sport built for the 2030s plays a part-time role in this new series.

The First takes place in the not-too-distant future and centers on a team of astronauts attempting to become the first humans on Mars. Actress Natascha McElhone portrays the aerospace director building her team. She is also the person piloting the special Range Rover Sport.

According to Land Rover, the SUV was designed with help from Westward Productions as well as Hulu. It boasts fully self-driving capability and there is a 360-degree Smart Light Bar sensor that communicates with other vehicles and also reads the road conditions. Additionally, the steering wheel itself can retract into the dashboard if it isn't being used.

2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar first drive

Since this Range Rover Sport can drive itself, the occupants can relax inside as the exterior glass can shift between fully transparent to completely mirrored surface for privacy. Inside, the cabin can shift around as needed based on the comfort and safety needs of those riding along. This future Range Rover Sport is also fully electric and features a suspension that can adapt to the desired driving dynamics of the owners.

What's most interesting about this fantasy Land Rover, however, isn't the fake tech. It's the fact that it looks a lot like the already in production Velar (shown above). If you want to pretend that you're putting together a team of astronauts for a Mars mission, you can do so today. Rather than waiting until 2030, just pop down to your local Land Rover dealer and plunk down cash on the Velar.

If you do that, you get a Range Rover with near-concept-like looks, funky pop-out door handles, and all of the off-road prowess for which the brand is known.

Jaguar - Repair and Consignment Sales Redwood City - Lister LFP promises to be world's fastest SUV - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

2019 Lister LFT-666

Lister says the LFP will sprint to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 200 mph, all for a price tag of about $181,000. We'll have all the details soon as Lister says the LFP's reveal is coming up in the next few weeks.
Lister is looking to transform itself into the unofficial performance arm of Jaguar, similar to what Alpina is to BMW and AMG was to Mercedes-Benz before being brought in-house, so we will likely be treated with more Jaguars tuned by Lister in the coming years.

The good news is that Lister isn't giving up on its standalone models. The company is still churning out continuation versions of its famous Knobbly race car, and it has a supercar in the works to succeed its Storm supercar of the 1990s.
Developing the new supercar requires a lot of funds, which is why Lister has turned to tuning Jaguars in the meantime. There is also the historical connection as Lister's past cars have typically run Jaguar powertrains, including the Storm which featured a 7.0-liter V-12 from Jaguar's XJR-9 prototype race car. Lister's previous owner also tuned Jaguars, specifically the XJS.
