There's a new generation of the Audi A3 coming to showrooms soon, and once again it will spawn sporty S3 and high-performance RS 3 variants.

A prototype for the RS 3 in Sportback hatchback guise has been spotted again, revealing many clues about the new performance compact. An RS 3 sedan is also out testing and will likely end up the sole RS 3 body style offered in the United States, just like with the current generation.

The new A3 represents more of a major update of the current generation than a true redesign, and this will very much be the case for the RS 3 variant.

Expect the model to continue with a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-5, though we could see output exceed the current model's 400 horsepower now that Mercedes-AMG's latest compacts are delivering as much as 416 hp. A dual-clutch transmission and rear-biased all-wheel-drive system should also form part of the package.

We know this prototype is for the RS 3 because of the enlarged intakes at the front, the flared wheel arches, massive wheel and tire combo, and the signature pair of oval exhausts at the rear.
The final design should resemble the recently revealed—and U.S.-bound—RS 6 Avant, but on a smaller scale.

 New Audi A3

The new A3 is expected to reach showrooms late this year as a 2021 model. The RS 3 should trail it by about a year.

Potential rivals for the RS 3 include AMG's new 45 series, as well as the BMW M2 and a future CT4-V Blackwing from Cadillac.

Range Rover - Repair and Service Redwood City - Jaguar Land Rover to reportedly follow electric XJ with electric J-Pace, Road Rover - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

Jaguar Land Rover is set to reveal a redesign for the XJ flagship sedan later this year, prototypes for which have been spotted.

The new XJ is the first recipient of a highly modular platform code-named MLA (Modular Longitudinal Architecture), which the engineers have designed to support plug-in hybrid and battery-electric powertrains. In fact, Jaguar is expected to launch the XJ with electric power only, before adding more conventional powertrains.

The MLA platform will enable Jaguar Land Rover to launch more EVs in relatively quick succession, with Autocar having reported Monday that the recently confirmed Jaguar J-Pace and oft-rumored Road Rover from Land Rover will arrive by the end of 2021 also boasting electric power. According to the British publication's sources, the electric J-Pace and Road Rover will join the XJ at Jaguar Land Rover's Castle Bromwich plant in the United Kingdom, which is in the process of being transformed into an EV hub.

The J-Pace will be a mid-size SUV targeting popular luxury SUVs like the BMW X5 and Volvo XC90 and, in electric guise, the Tesla Model X. Expect it to feature a sleeker design than the more conventionally styled F-Pace to help deliver optimal aerodynamic efficiency—a must for the electric version.

Jaguar Land Rover is yet to announce the Road Rover which is likely to go by another name if it actually reaches production. Previous reports point to it being a large, luxurious vehicle with light off-road capability akin to a soft-roader. Autocar reported on Monday that the Road Rover will be offered with electric power only.

Jaguar Land Rover predicts 20 percent of new car sales will be electric by 2025, so don't be surprised if more of the automaker's future models come without an internal-combustion engine.

Mercedes - Repair and Service Redwood City- Someone gave a 1975 Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman a Maybach Makeover - Bosch European Redwood City - (650) 368-3000

Well before the first Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Pullman made its debut at the 2015 Geneva International Motor Show, somebody already commissioned Mercedes to build a Maybach-enhanced Pullman.

What you see here is a 1975 Mercedes 600 Pullman that was modified by Mercedes' official classic car department to match the specification of the Maybach sedans on sale at the time, i.e. the 57 and 62.

It was commissioned by a customer in Germany and is currently listed for sale at Dutch dealership Auto Leitner (via Autoblog). The asking price is 2.15 million euros (approximately $2.35 million), or more than four times the price of a standard version, and according to the listing the modifications took seven years to complete, between the commission in 2007 and the completion in 2014.

The modifications included new seats with heating and cooling functions, as well as modern climate control systems, satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, a fridge, and a DVD player to keep passengers entertained on long drives.

The customer chose to keep the car's mechanicals unchanged so that the vehicle didn't lose its full vintage status. Considering the car features the M100 6.3-liter V-8, we fully understand. The engine delivers about 250 horsepower, or enough to send the limo from 0-60 mph in about ten seconds.
Mercedes is almost ready to unveil a new generation of the S-Class. While we know that there will be a Mercedes-Maybach version, it isn't clear yet if there will be another Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Pullman.
